He arrived with no collar or tag and we have been unable to find a chip. This one is really nice; he is obedient, clean in kennels, he is not destructive and he responds to commands very easily. No one has yet come forward for him. He arrived on Tuesday and was running in the town for most of the morning before he was caught. Hey All,
Sorry for the mass email but my dog has gone missing, now believed stolen and it was the quickest way I could get the message out to you all. Jessie is a 2 year old boxer bitch, she is red with white chest and socks and full tail. She has an extremely long tongue that sticks out her mouth even when shut. She escaped from the house on Thursday 28th July and we believe she was picked up in the Forest Hall area of Newcastle upon Tyne (NE5).
We have contacted all the local vets, council, police, dog warden, network rail and are visiting the local shelters daily in case she turns up. We have postered everywhere within a two mile radius of where she went missing and have hit as many parks and walks in Newcastle with posters as we have been able to do so. We still have many more places to poster but but have set up a facebook group http://www.facebook.com/groups/188299384565660/ and people have been wonderful and helped put posters up all over the place.

I am now appealing to everyone to give a poster to their vets, I believe she may well have been taken out of the area by now as I'm pretty sure she would have been spotted by now. Please could you make a note of her details and if possible get her poster to any vets you may use and help me spread the word in a bid to get her back safely. She is microchipped so if they scan her it will show that she is stolen and they can get her back to me. I am worried that they may not scan her if they aren't aware that she is missing.

We lost Sperrin on Sat 20th August from Balsham. She is a brown terrier, 8 years old, female, spayed and microchipped. She was wearing a brown collar with our number but is very good at loosing collars. She is very friendly and has been known to jump into strangers cars but has never disappeared for this long before. ‘Urgent Appeal for Information’ The RSPCA Coventry, Nuneaton & District Branch are urgently appealing for information after one of the animal centres much loved dogs was stolen today (Monday 22nd August) by a man in his early twenties posing as a potential adopter. The animal centre staff followed the normal rehoming procedures asking the relevant rehoming questions, taking details and holding something of value including house keys and a bike before the man was able to take Chippy for a walk. All the information and items proved to be false as he never returned for them. The man left the centre on Coundon Wedge Drive with Chippy around 11.30am into the field towards Brownshill Green. Chippy is a mastiff X around 18months old he is neutered and micro chipped and is very recognisable, we are hoping that someone may see him and contact us or the police. Chippy has really been through it in his life so far after being seized by the RSPCA with a horrendous injury to his neck caused by an ill fitted collar. He also has a life threatening blood disorder, which if he injured himself could prove to be fatal. Glenn Mayoll Animal Centre Manager says ‘We are all gob smacked by what has happened, the man in question was convincing as a legitimate adopter and even discussed bringing his other dog to meet the Chippy at the centre’ Jennie Hamlet Kennel Supervisor went on to say ‘All we want is to have Chippy back in our care so we can find him a loving home where we know he will be ok. We are really worried due the type of dog he is that he may well fall into the wrong hands which would be devastating for all of us. We are appealing for anyone who may have any information to get in touch’ ‘All the centre staff have clubbed together to form a small cash reward to anyone who gives us the information leading to the safe return of Chippy’ The man is described as being in his early twenties with brown hair, blue eyes and pockmarked face around 5ft7’’ in height, he also has tattoos on his hands and neck. He was wearing a grey tracksuit with a dark blue/grey cap. We believe the man may own another dog possibly a Staffordshire bull terrier and he may be from the Longford area but could be from anywhere so we ask everyone to be vigilant in looking out. Chippy did originate from Birmingham and its possible he could have been taken there, we need everyone to keep looking for Chippy. The police are investigating and we do have CCTV footage of the man in question. Our main aim is for the safe return of Chippy to our care. DOG walkers and visitors to Birmingham’s largest park have been warned over toxic algae. Rangers at Sutton Park warned visitors to stay out of the water after discovering high levels of the blue-green algae in two pools. Signs have now been put up at Keepers and Blackroot Pools in the park. A Birmingham City Council spokesman said: “In partnership with the Environment Agency, parks staff regularly monitor the water in pools and lakes across the city and have found increased levels of the algae in Blackroot and Keepers Pools. “Blue-green algae, or cynobacteria, can be fatal for animals and cause sickness and muscle pain in humans.” The council spokesman said staff would continue to monitor the algae levels in the park and would issue a notice when the levels had reduced to normal. help! We are appealing for information after a dog was stolen
from its Burford adoption centre. One of our rescue dogs, a
beautiful lurcher-saluki crossbreed called Joe, was sadly
taken from the centre on Saturday. We believe Joe was taken
at around 12.45pm after a member of the public saw a man
leading a dog matching his description to the car park by his
collar. He got into a silver Mitsubishi 4x4 and drove off.
Staff are very concerned about Joe’s welfare – he
is a nervous dog and we are anxious to return him to our care

This very small distinctive tan coloured female (entire) Terrier x Chihuahua type was found on 18 October 2011 in the Reading area. She was found near to a pet shop and was taken to the local vet. but no microchip has been traced. She was wearing a pink with white collar but no tag. When found she was v. thin, dirty, nails overgrown and has been treated for fleas and worms. Cowers to hand. There is a possibility that she may have been with travellers but no real proof. The finder wishes to give the dog a permanent home and no one has reported losing her but just in case she is a stolen dog please have a look. Regards, Gill. Dog Warden Service. My friend found a Bedlington terrier on the back roads of Warrington/Goldburn yesterday! .....Desperately trying to help some friends of mine whose
weimaraner bitch is missing (presumed stolen) from Glendon
(nr. Kettering, Northamptonshire NN14). She is a 5 year old,
she was laying in their garden under a tree, owner comes out
to call her in as she has to go to a meeting and she’s
nowhere to be found. They live in the middle of nowhere on a
farm, there is no reason any public would be passing to think
that she was lost and this dog has never strayed before in
her life (even as a puppy!). There had been some unsavoury
characters looking for bunnies in the previous few days but I
wouldn’t want to point a finger of blame, just
mentioning it.

CROSSPOSTED The dog’s name is Charlie, and he is a 10 year old male (neutered) Doberman. He is black and tan, and has been microchipped. He does not have any distinguishing marks that the owner made me aware of. I do not know if he was wearing a collar, but I can find out for you. He was due to come in and see us for a vet appointment, and when the owners called him in from the garden, he didn’t come in. He has never wandered before, and their garden is secure, so they believe he may have been stolen. Due to his breed, certain people may find him desirable as a fighting dog. They had seen some suspicious characters in the area before, which is why they suspect he was taken from them. He doesn’t seem good with other dogs and was nervous when I picked him up originally, but his confidence gained when I took him for a walk. He would be the kind of dog that wouldn’t want to leave your side when he has trust in you. He is approx 3-4 years old but this is a guess as I haven’t really had chance to look properly at his teeth, male, entire and brindle with a white chest. No i.d found on him, no chip. He was found in a village called Quinton in Warwickshire tied up to a fence by his harness. Have tried lots of different rescue’s but as you all know we are all bursting at the seams trying to help these pound dogs find rescue spaces but wanted to try as I have exhausted all other options. my suspicions that these are from the same place!

Any ideas as to parentage let me know! Black/grey coat, quite long in the body. Coat is quite soft. Male, fairly young. Terrier x? bit of shih tzu in there with the coat? Cesky terrier in there?? Two male terriers (came in separately)
3536 - Oldie boy, probably 10 or even more. Very sweet, a little shy but
friendly. He's in a kennels by himself so I'm not sure what like with
other dogs as nothing to test him with
3538 - teeny terrier, possibly some Chihuahua in his distant past!
Little wriggly bundle of fun. Was straying on local gypsy site for a few
weeks before caught. Appears to be friendly with other dogs. Age is
difficult to say for certain as probably not had best diet but could be
3-6 years old. Possibly even younger but don't think any older.

The one-year-old Norwegian Buhund, called Alfie, was hit by a car in Ringland Lane at about 5.45pm last night (Friday), close to the Urban Jungle garden centre. Owner Kate Smith, from Silvo Road in Queens Hill, Costessey, said her husband had been walking the dog when the pet ran across the road and was struck by the car. She said the driver initially stopped, but Alfie ran away towards Old Costessey and the driver then left the scene. She said: “My husband was out until 2am looking for him and he went out again at 7am this morning, but we haven’t found him yet.” Other families from Queens Hills have joined the search for Alfie, who was wearing a black collar and is microchipped, but have so far not managed to find him. 'Charley' Jack Russell Terrier bitch. Short haired. Mostly white
with brown eye patches and some brown spots on her right ear.
Small patch above her tail - full length tail. Very compact well
muscled little dog - quite short legged, approx 12" or 30 cm
at shoulder height. 6 years old. Black web collar.

12.02.12. Jack Russell Terrier neutered male. Broken coat, his
coat is quite long at the moment as he hasn't been stripped since
last spring. White with tan/black half-mask over left eye. Tail is
docked. 10 kg - Small dog but quite large for a Jack Russell,
approx 15 inches at shoulder. 15 years old. Microchipped. He is
hard of hearing and usually only responds to high pitched whistles
etc unless very close. He is short sighted and can't see clear
images more than about 10m away. His back legs are very weak and
he walks with a distinctive 'shuffle' moving both back legs
together in a kind of 'gallop' or a very stiff walk. He currently
has a gum infection which makes his breath smell badly. |

Also attached is another more recent photo. He’s nine years old but in good shape overall. He is a neutered dog. He has a prominent fatty bulge on his right shoulder and is missing a rear molar (can’t remember which side). He is well socialised and normally content to approach people and other dogs. I work away from home during the week and am contactable on 07787 503 124 (which is the number on Shindi’s collar tag). Thanks for your help in this matter. Whilst Shindi has always had an independent streak, he has never run off more than into the local area, which he knows fairly well (normally after a scent of either another dog, or someone’s bins), and returned within a couple of hours. This has only happened 4 or 5 times in 7 years living in this area. We are therefore inevitably worried that he has either been stolen or run over. |
